Paramount Skydance Will Cut Approximately 2,000 US Jobs – News
Skydance Paramount will start significant workforce reductions the week of 27 October, removing about 2,000 US jobs within a cost-cutting plan totaling $2bn overseen by new chief executive David Ellison.
The layoffs follow the merger between Skydance Media and Paramount Global, finalized in August with a value of $8.4bn.
Further overseas workforce reductions are likely, as the firm aiming to disclose complete information during its Q3 financial results on 10 November.
Earlier reports stated the firm planned to reduce from 2,000 to 3,000 roles before the start of November.
Until December 2024, the company employed nearly 18,600 permanent and temporary staff and 3,500 project-based staff.
Paramount Skydance did not immediately respond on the matter.
